Can hypnotherapy help with anxiety?

Can hypnotherapy help with anxiety?

YES it can. Hypnotherapy can provide clients with the key tools that they have been searching for, to successfully overcome anxiety.

One of the most frequent problems that clients present with for both online and face-to-face hypnotherapy is anxiety. This is the case for adults, adolescents, and children. Sometimes clients present with anxiety on its own and at other times their anxieties are intertwined with other issues such as trauma, fear, phobia, lack of confidence, low self-esteem and more.

Anxiety comes in many different forms from general anxiety to social anxiety, health anxiety, specific fears, and phobias and more. Anxiety symptoms vary for each client and it is important to remember that no two people may experience anxiety in the same way. Anxiety may present both psychological and physical symptoms, including not being able to participate in activities or social events, struggling to interact with other people, fear of embarrassing oneself, feeling nervous, restless, or tense. Physical symptoms may include sweating, breathing rapidly, nausea, increased heart rate and anxiety attacks

Can hypnotherapy be an effective therapy? Yes, hypnotherapy can provide clients with the key tools that they have been searching for, to successfully overcome anxiety.

Research has shown that hypnotherapy can help relieve stress, fear, and anxiety. Much of anxiety is often born out of fear. Hypnotherapy can also be used to help in coping with anxiety or panic attacks. Hypnotherapy allows clients to reframe and release automatic responses, replacing them with more helpful ways to thinking, and ultimately reducing anxiety and stress that the client may have been feeling.

While under hypnosis, clients address underlying subconscious thought patterns that have fuelled their anxiety. I use suggestion techniques to encourage a change in thought patterns and behaviours re-wiring the brain’s cognitive processes. We work together for the client to find the tools and coping mechanisms, enabling them to overcome limiting behaviours, even after the session ends. Through hypnotherapy, clients can gain greater control over their responses to triggers, become aware of what their triggers are, and consider alternative ways to handle stressful or anxious situations. Dealing with the root cause of the anxiety and learning to manage their emotions, thought processes and behaviours moving forward is key to positive changes in a client’s life. In-between sessions clients are encouraged to practise new strategies and techniques covered within the session, to support lomg term changes in mindset and behaviours.
